September 16 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir, India Youth JKPC President Mudasir Karim expresses deep dismay and outrage over the mistreatment of Kashmiri students at Desh Bhagat University (DBU) in Punjab. It has come to light that Desh Baghat University knowingly misled these students, creating a precarious situation for their futures. The alleged scam has left these young individuals grappling with uncertainty and despair, with their hard-earned money and dreams at stake.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, reports have emerged that the university’s faculty is resorting to threats, forcing these students to withdraw their fees and abandon their educational pursuits. This alarming development raises questions about the ethical and legal boundaries within which educational institutions should operate.The students have made grave allegations against the university, accusing it of surreptitiously transferring their registrations to an unapproved college within the DBU campus. This disturbing revelation has sparked widespread protests and a horrifying police lathi charge, leaving numerous female students injured and some unconscious.
The group of students discovered that their admissions had been clandestinely shifted to Sardar Lal Singh College, a college located within the DBU campus. This shocking revelation left the affected students feeling betrayed and cheated, as they were under the impression that they were registered with DBU.
“This situation raises serious concerns as it directly contravenes the policies governing nursing course admissions. Universities are bound by strict rules and regulations set forth by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). However, the university authorities at DBU allegedly overstepped their boundaries by unilaterally transferring these students’ registrations to Lal Singh College, a college lacking approval from both the INC and the Punjab Nursing Registration Council (PNRC)”, said Mudasir Karim.
Tragically, the students’ legitimate dissent and peaceful protests were met with a harsh and unwarranted police cane charge. This violent response left numerous students injured and some unconscious. Mudasir Karim, in expressing his shock and disappointment, stated, “Lathi charging Kashmiri students and misbehaving with girls for protesting against a university that’s wrecked their future is completely uncalled for.”
