‘Your Father Ignored Security Warnings That Led to My Father’s Killing’: Lone to CM

Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference (JKPC) chief and MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone, has strongly criticized the Chief Minister over remarks regarding security for Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, calling them irresponsible and dangerous.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Lone stated, "I may have millions of disagreements with Mirwaiz Umar Farooq sahib. But that his father was martyred is a reality. My father was martyred too. Even the date of martyrdom is the same, and my father had gone to Idgah to commemorate the martyrdom of Mirwaiz Mohammed Farooq sahib and was shot there."

He accused the CM's father, who was the Chief Minister at the time, of failing to provide security to his father despite intelligence warnings. "He did not provide me security when I wanted to go for his funeral.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe Divisional Commissioner at that time came and expressed inability to provide security," he added.

Lone further alleged that the CM’s remarks about Mirwaiz’s security could increase threats against him. "Your mention of so-called security for Mirwaiz is what we know as ‘speak to kill’ in the last three decades. You always had one of the highest security covers in India. And does it behoove you to act like a white-collar killer and make statements which greatly increase the threat perception of a person?"

Concluding his post, Lone termed the CM’s remarks as “loose talk, cruel talk, killer talk,” and expressed his disappointment, saying, "What a shame??? And Wallah, I am not surprised." (KNS)
