6-year-old Palhalan boy secures bronze medal at Jeet Kune Do championship

Srinagar, Oct 11: (KNS): In a moment of immense pride for Ghat Palhalan Pattan, Hashmat Saliem, a young talent, emerged victorious in the 8th National Jeet Kune DO Championship, clinching the third position and a well-deserved bronze medal.

 Hashmat, son of Shahzad Saliem, hails from Ghat Palhalan and is just six years old, studying in the first grade.

The championship, held at the Indoor Stadium in Srinagar, witnessed Hashmat's exceptional performance, showcasing his remarkable skills and determination in the field of Jeet Kune Do. 

The young prodigy's achievement did not go unnoticed, as he was honored by  Surjeet Kumar, an IPS officer and the DIG of Central Kashmir, who felicitated Hashmat for his outstanding display in the sport of boxing.

Hashmat Saliem is a student of Government Primary School in Dar Mohalla Ghat, where he received guidance and training from his dedicated coach, Nasir Farooq.

 This remarkable feat at such a tender age not only brings pride to Ghat Palhalan but also serves as an inspiring example of youthful talent and determination in the world of sports. Hashmat's future in the world of martial arts looks exceptionally promising (KNS)
