Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNS): The government has decided to extend the benefits and incentives for its employees working in the Kashmir Valley for another three years, starting from August 1, 2024. This decision was announced by the personnel ministry on Monday.
The Kashmir Valley includes 10 districts: Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Ganderbal, and Bandipora.
The government order says that these benefits apply to all central ministries, departments, and public sector companies. These organizations must follow the prescribed rates for these benefits.
Employees working in the Valley have the option to move their families to another place in India at government expense. They will also receive transportation allowance for their families, including a grant worth 80% of their last month’s basic pay.
Employees who move their families will not be eligible for the daily allowance but will get the 80% of their last month’s basic pay in the form of a transfer grant.
The government will also provide security, accommodation, and transport for the employees to get to work.
Additionally, employees will receive a daily messing allowance of Rs 142.75, the same as the allowance given to Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel.
Pensioners in the Valley who are unable to receive their pensions through local banks or other offices will have their pensions paid to them outside the Valley where they now live, the order added. (KNS)
