Srinagar, June 22(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-Sharie Shian President Aga Syed Hassan’s representative on Interfaith Dialogue Chapter, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, attended the 9th Peace and Reconciliation Conference in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

While presenting his paper on ‘Role of Interfaith Dialogue in Conflict Resolution,’ Aga Muntazir argued that interfaith dialogue is a process involving open and respectful exchanges between individuals of different faiths, the statement issued to KNS reads.

It aims to increase understanding, clarify misconceptions, and encourage respect for others' beliefs, it added.

“In today's world, where religious affiliations often intersect with socio-political and ethnic identities, leading to complex conflicts, interfaith dialogue emerges as a tool for peace-building and conflict resolution. Historically, Kashmir has been a melting pot of diverse religious and cultural influences, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. This confluence of traditions has fostered a unique Kashmiriyat—a shared sense of identity and cultural ethos that emphasizes harmony and brotherhood among all Kashmiris, regardless of their religious beliefs," statement reads.

This ethos is an example of how diverse religious communities can coexist peacefully, supporting and enriching each other, it added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
