Old Town Baramulla Transforms through Education: GAASH Academy Students Shine in JK Board Exams

BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 22 (KNS): Old Town Baramulla is undergoing a positive transformation through education, driven by initiatives like GAASH Academy.

Led by philanthropist Sheikh Mudasir, the academy provides free education to nearly 80 underprivileged children and orphans, fostering academic excellence and hope.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, felicitated the students for their outstanding performance in the JK Board exams at a function organised today during a special event at GAASH Academy.

Sherpa praised the academy's efforts in providing quality education to the children of Old Town and acknowledged the Indian Army’s support in furthering this initiative.

Recognizing this impact, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Dagger Division and Baramulla Brigade Commander also attended the event to encourage the young achievers and support the academy’s mission.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Parents expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mudasir for his dedication and to the Army for its support. To further the academy’s mission, the Army provided Rs 4 lakh in financial aid, along with sports kits and stationery. Previous contributions included a computer system, generator, furniture, and other essentials.

Principals and teachers thanked the Indian Army for providing a platform for children to excel. They highlighted the remarkable improvement in students' performance, with many showing significant progress in their exams.

Sheikh Mudasir expressed his gratitude to the Indian Army and the community for their unwavering support. He reaffirmed his commitment to guiding the youth towards education and positive development.

The event was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Baramulla Altaf Khan, President Bar Association Baramulla senior advocate Nilofar and local citizens.(KNS)
