‘Awaiting high command’s nod for contesting’

Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNS): The state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that they have not received any nod from the party high-command regarding contesting parliament by-polls in Srinagar and Anantnag constituency.
Ashok Koul, the State General Secretary of BJP told KNS that the party high command is currently discussing the by-polls. “We have not received any directions from the high command so far over contesting, but we hope that the decision regarding the by-polls would come very soon,” he said.
He said that it has not been decided so far whether they will choose the candidates or not. “We know that a short span of time is left in the by-polls but once we receive any directions from party high command we will go with that,” he added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, Koul said that the alliance between the two opposition parties won’t yield any results. “The National Conference president Omar Abdullah had recently said that the opposition parties should forget 2019 elections and should thinking about the 2024 elections. Now, the party should have allied with those who have stronghold in the field,” Koul said.
He said, “It seems that the NC is trying to down their image by allying with the party who won only seven seats in the UP elections.” (KNS)
