Addresses series of public meetings in Rajouri, Mendhar

Srinagar, May 19 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr.Farooq Abdullah on Sunday addressed a series of public meetings in Mendhar and Rajouri.

The meetings were convened and organised by senior party leader Javed Ahmad Rana and DDC Thakur Rameshwar Singh. Among others Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former minister and Additional General Secretary, Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu Province, Khalid Najeev Sudharwardhy former minister and Vice President Jammu Province, Abdul Gani Malik former minister and Zonal President Udhampur Reasi, Babu Rampaul former minister and Central Zone President, Dr. Mumtaz Bukhari Vice President Jammu Province, Zeeshan Rana Additional Spokesperson ,Bagh Hussain Rathore District President Poonch, Ch. Akram former MLA, Ch. Rahim Daad former MLC, Wali Daad Provincial Secretary Jammu Province, Muzaffar Khan Spokesperson Jammu, Mumtaz Bajjar, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Sheraz Azari Zonal Secretary Pir Panjal Zone and other party functionaries were also present on the occasion.

In his address to people, Dr. Farooq asked people not to allow the Saffron brigade’s divisive policies weakening India’s pluralistic ethos. "Mangal Sutra remark by the BJP leadership has brought to fore its communal tinge and therefore people should understand the ploy as soon as possible, and support India Alliance to help them come out of the morass gifted by the party in power in the centre,” he said adding, "His recent statements where he is talking about Muslims as outsiders, giving birth to more children, frightening Hindus by claiming that their properties, including the mangalsutras of their women, will be taken and distributed among the minority community have no parallel.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe Muslims only want our rights and have no intention to usurp the rights of others.”

He said that the winds of change are sweeping the country and the BJP is finding its government dangling, which is evident from the statements of the party’s top leaders."The NC and the Congress have come together to protect the country so that we can live with honour and die respectfully. Our country is still poverty-ridden and we can only overcome our problems when we are united.They are talking about ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’, but the prime minister’s speeches contradict his oft-repeated slogan. The home minister meets specially-invited people in the presence of those close to the BJP with an aim to divide us."(KNS)
