AIP concerned over damage caused due to flash floods in Kupwara

Kupwara July 23 (KNS): Awami Ittihaad Party AIP expresses concern over the losses incurred by people across Valley due to flash floods following cloud bursts.

While expressing unison with the families whose properties, crops and livestock were damaged due to weather vagary, Party Spokesperson Firdous Baba urged upon incumbent administration to rush revenue teams to the affected areas to assess the losses suffered by people, so that an effective compensation is worked out and distributed among the affected without delay.

The quantum of losses is yet to be calculated but people living in the affected areas has incurred heavy losses to their properties, crops and livestock. The weather vagary mostly affected various areas North Kashmir like Batpora Trumnar, Gundsana, Chalgund Haihama, Zurhama, Hiri Payeen, Goose, and many other areas in Kashmir. Spokesperson appealed to the LG Administration to restore basic facilities to these areas and ensure early rehabilitation of those who are affected.

Spokesperson also expressed grief with the family of Begum Jan of Nagsari Kupwara who has lost of life due to floods and has expressed his sympathy with family.

Firdous Baba further demanded that the affected farmers and horticulturalists should be compensated on MSP rates. He further impressed upon the concerned authorities to carry out the required restoration works in the affected areas on immediate basis. He impressed upon the administration to ensure the best of medical and other facilities on time.(KNS)
