London, Mar 15 (KNS) : Haji Syed Salman Chishty, the Gaddi Nashin of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, addressed an international audience here on Saturday, speaking on the themes of Sufism and self-realisation at the ‘Voices of Faith’ dialogue held at the Barbican Centre.
Chishty, who also serves as the Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, participated in a discussion with broadcaster Georgina Godwin, highlighting the core tenets of the Chishty Sufi tradition.
The gathering, organised by Teamwork Arts in collaboration with the Kamini and Vindi Banga Family Trust, brought together thinkers, spiritual leaders, and scholars to explore spirituality and the role of faith.
In his address, Chishty elaborated on the concept of the inner journey.
Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The essence of Sufism is the journey from the self to the Self,” he said. “When the heart awakens to its inner truth, it transcends divisions of religion, race and nation. What remains is compassion, service to humanity and the recognition that the Divine light shines within every soul.”
He further noted that the spiritual legacy of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty of Ajmer Sharif promotes a message of “love towards all, malice towards none.”
Other prominent speakers at the event included Sir Trevor Phillips, Justice Rohinton F. Nariman, Rabbi Jonathan Romain, and Mishal Husain. The dialogue concluded with a call for enhanced collaboration among spiritual traditions to promote a shared moral vision. (KNS)
