Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam pays tribute to Mirwaiz Ahmadullah Shah on his death anniversary

 Srinagar, June 03 (KNS): 93rd death anniversary of the prominent religious scholar and the former head of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam, Mirwaiz Moulana Ahmadullah Shah (RA) was observed today with utmost devotion.

 
In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that as present head of the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq continues to be under house arrest, a brief ceremony was organised in this regard in which rich tributes were paid to Mirwaiz Moulana Ahmadullah Shah.
 
It termed him a true Aashiq-e-Rasool (SAW) who besides being an ardent follower of the Quran and Sunnah was an epitome of generosity and a man of noble character. 
 
During his time, he not only exposed the conspiracies hatched against the ‘Khatam-e-Naboowat’ –the finality of the prophethood of the Last Messenger of Allah Muhammad (SAW), but also launched a vigorous movement against it thereby safeguarded the Muslims of Kashmir from the storm of disbelief and apostasy.
 
“It was Ahmadullah Shah who first stood against the tyrannical rule in Kashmir and to safeguard the political and social rights of the people signed a historic memorandum which was sent to the then Viceroy of India. This cost him severe hardships and he was time and again persecuted under one pretext or the other.”
 
The Anjuman while terming him as an ideal personality paid rich tributes to him for his educational services, reforms and establishment of Islamia Oriental College under his patronage besides other pro bono publico activities.
 
Meanwhile, a  Quran recitation ceremony was organised at Islamia Oriental College for elevation of his status. 
 
Special prayers were also offered in favour of found Nusratul Islam Allama Rasool Shah and his comrades, other late presidents, officials, aides and devotees including late Mirwaiz Ahmadullah Shah (RA), the statement said. (KNS).
