Army rescues pregnant woman, wade through feets of snow in North Kashmir Village

Srinagar, Feb 1 (KNS): Army on Thursday rescued A pregnant woman amidst heavy snowfall in Manabal Laohi Coot area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

 

“At 11:30 AM, Army received a distress call from Manzoor Ahmad Badana, husband of pregnant lady. Locals also requested army for urgent rescue and medical evacuation of a pregnant lady who was in critical condition,” reports said.

 

“Due to heavy snowfall, Monabal road was completely blocked and very slippery. Realising the criticality of the situation, rescue team and medics from Haril Camp immediately responded to distress call, risking their own safety,” sources said, adding, “In spite of heavy snow and sleet formation on the road, the rescue team reached the location on time and the patient was safely evacuated to SDH langate,”.

 

According to KNS Correspondent, the medical staff and Qalamabad police were already on standby at Haril to receive the patient and attended to her immediately.

 

The family and doctors expressed their gratitude to the Army's 30RR and Qalamabad police for their swift action and timely assistance as it saved the lives of mother and baby.(KNS)
