 Srinagar, Aug 17 (KNS): The conference on economic, geographical, traditional, and social crisis faced by Hunza, Shina, and Pashtu tribes and promotion of tourism to address the situation marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to empower and uplift the tribal communities.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the conference, organized by Kashmir Sewa was held at Jahangir Hotel in Srinagar and it brought together a diverse range of experts, scholars, community leaders, and stakeholders who engaged in insightful discussions, shared perspectives and explored innovative strategies to address the challenges faced by these tribal communities.

The statement reads that the event was graced by chief guest Iqbal Singh Lalpura, chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India, who commended the efforts of Kashmir Sewa Sangh in bringing attention to these pressing issues.

During the event, he emphasized the paramount importance of fostering a sense of brotherhood among different communities.

He underlined the significance of unity and understanding, highlighting that these values serve as the cornerstone of a harmonious society.

His address resonated with the audience, emphasizing the need for inclusivity and mutual respect to create a cohesive and strong community.

Furthermore, he assured the attendees that their genuine demands and concerns would be effectively communicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Firdous Baba, chief of Kashmir Sewa Sangh, expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of collective action in creating positive change.
