Constitution Allows Us to Act Firmly Against Threats: LG Manoj Sinha

 Srinagar, Aug 20 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha Sunday said that the Indian Constitution grants us the authority to take strong action against individuals who pose threats," underlining the empowering role of the Constitution in allowing resolute responses to challenges to national integrity.

He emphasized that the Constitution, shaped by visionary figures like BR Ambedkar, authorizes the administration to take decisive steps against those supporting terrorism, its networks, and those who have secured government jobs through illegitimate means.

Speaking during the launch of the Green Jammu and Kashmir Driver 2023-34 initiative at IIM Jammu, LG Sinha made it clear, "Our commitment to counter those endangering our state and nation's unity remains steadfast," emphasizing the Constitutional framework that supports robust action against threats. His statement followed the recent dismissal of J&K Bank's Chief Manager, Sajad Bazaz, based on credible reports from agencies regarding his anti national activities.

LG Sinha acknowledged the comprehensive strategies implemented by security agencies in addressing terrorism in both Kashmir and Jammu. He noted progress achieved in Jammu's security situation and anticipated further advancement. Recent encounters resulted in the elimination of key terrorists associated with incidents like the Dhangri killings and attacks on military convoys.

Addressing concerns about public protests and the introduction of smart meters, LG Sinha assured, "Administrative decisions will always prioritize the interests of the people." He acknowledged substantial power procurement by the J&K administration and suggested that affluent individuals should fulfill their power bill obligations. Decisions concerning less privileged individuals would be taken at an appropriate time.(KNS).
