Budgam, July 15(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with District Administration Budgam, today organised One Day Cultural Festival at Govt.Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam.
The festival was inaugural show of series of 20 festivals to be conducted in all districts of Kashmir Division in coming months.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo, (IAS) attended the function as Chief Guest, and Secretary J&K Culture academy Bharat Singh Manhas was the Guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that people of Budgam are rich in culture and posses huge potential in the field.
He appreciated JKAACL for beginning its series of cultural festivals from this district and providing young and ace artists platform to perform and promote cultural activities in the district.
Further, he said that such programmes shall continue to be organised in the district for promotion art and culture.
In this festival variety of cultural items were presented by artists from different fields of art and culture. Raja Bilal, Feroz Ahmad Shah and Ajaz, Gazi Ajaz, Aaqib Asad, Nasira, Fayaz Ahmed Bhat and party,Nasir Hussain, Nazir Josh . Aube Sabir, Jamal Budgami, Syed Riyaz, Javaid Budgami, Lateef Niyazi, Ghulam Hussain, Zohoor Ahmed Bhat, Rayees, Ahmad, Gh.Mohd, Younis Majeed, Irshad Ahmad, Feroz Cultural Forum , student Artists from Girls and Boys Higher Secondary Schools Budgam.

Chief Education Officer Budgam, Executive Engineer Budgam, District Information Offier Budgam, also attended the function as guest of honours. Hundreds of students and teachers from local schools witnessed the festival. Secretary Academy Sh. Bharat Singh Manhas, JKAS presened welcome address. Prof. Bashar Bashir presented keynote address, Dr. Shabnum Rafiq, Dr. Gulzar Ahmed Rather, Ishfaq Ahmad were also present as hosts. Proceedings of the function was conducted by Gulshan Badrani. Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmed presented vote of thanks.(KNS).
