Srinagar, Aug 18 (KNS): River Police retrieved the body of a man who had allegedly jumped into the Dal Lake a day ago retrieved on Friday, officials said.
The officials of River Police that a man jumped into the Dal Lake yesternight and shortly the River Police personnel launched instant operation.
They said on Friday morning, the operation was launched again and the body was retrieved. They identified the deceased as Imtiyaz Ali Sofi (40) son of Ali Muhammad Sofi, a resident of Chanpora Nowshera area of Soura.
They said the body has been handed over to legal heir after the conduct of all medico-legal formalities. They added a case in this regard has been registered.(KNS)
