DE&CC Ganderbal organises day long Job fair at Duderhama

 Ganderbal, August 08(KNS): Employment and Counselling Centre Ganderbal on Tuesday Organised a Day Long Job Fair at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Duderhama Ganderbal.

As per the statement issued here, the fair was inaugurated by Nissar Ahmad Wani (JKAS), Director Employment, J&K along with the Deputy Director Employment Dr Sheeba Inayat (JKAS).

In an endeavour to provide a convenient platform to the educated unemployed youth/Job seekers and to facilitate their interaction with Employers for their Placements, it added.

The event saw an overwhelming response from the Job seekers/ unemployed youth from the District.

On the occasion, Director Employment J&K interacted with the youth and other stakeholders. He informed & counselled them about various opportunities being offered by the Department. He encouraged them to grab any such opportunities with both hands.

President, Integrated Textile & Handicrafts Park Zakura Syed Afaq Qadri also spoke about opportunities & vacancies in the handicrafts sector in the district.

Among others, Event was also attended by Director RSETI Ganderbal, Vice Principal Govt. Boys HSS Duderhama, Social Activists, Media Fraternity Ganderbal, Beneficiaries and staff of DE&CC Ganderbal.

The job fair saw the participation of more than 1000 job seekers & artisans. 180 job seekers were shortlisted onspot by 15 different employers. 21 candidates were also selected onspot. More candidates will be adjusted in coming days. At the event, different line departments and skill training providers had installed their stalls for onspot registration and awareness.

An interactive session was also held between the Director, Officers, Employers, other stakeholders and success stories. Director Employment later on handed over momentos, certificates, offer letters to the beneficiaries.

All the Job Aspirants expressed their satisfaction and thanked organisers of the event for providing them a suitable platform to interact with the Employers.(KNS).
