Director Horticulture Kashmir participates in awareness camp in Kulgam

Srinagar January 13 (KNS): G R Mir Director Horticulture Kashmir, today visited district Kulgam where he participated in a training/awareness camp organized by the Department of Horticulture Kulgam. The event was held at the Conference Hall of DC Office Kulgam and was attended by Chief Horticulture Officer Kulgam, Subject Matter Specialist Kulgam, and various other officers and officials from the department, along with a huge number of orchardists.


The primary objective of the camp was to empower local farmers by providing them with valuable insights into the latest horticultural schemes and technological advancements. The programme focused on disseminating information about significant UT and centrally sponsored schemes, including HADP (Holistic Agriculture Development Programme), High-Density Plantation Scheme, and MIDH (Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture).

During the event, a technical guidance session was conducted by experts from the Department, aiming to equip farmers with the necessary knowledge to enhance their horticultural practices.

Director Horticulture in his address, underscored the department's vision and ongoing initiatives, emphasizing the pivotal role of horticulture in propelling the overall development of the region. He highlighted the sector's potential for growth and sustainability. He further urged the farmers to take full advantage of the departmental schemes in vogue.(KNS)
