Srinagar, 14 Aug (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah paid rich tributes to the renowned Islamic scholar, spiritual leader and former Sajjada Nashin and Mutawalli of Baba Nagri Wangath, Hazrat Al-Haj Mian Bashir Ahmad Larvi Qayumi Naqshbandi, on his fifth death anniversary.

The duo said that the late Mian Bashir Ahmad Larvi and his forefathers played an unforgettable role not only in the propagation and spread of Islam but also in improving the socio-economic conditions and standard of living of the poor and backward Gujjar and Bakarwal communities. They described his political, social and particularly religious services as unforgettable and expressed hope that his worthy son and present Sajjada Nashin, Mian Altaf Ahmad, would continue to serve the people by following in the footsteps of his illustrious forefathers.
