Srinagar, Jan 11 (KNS): PDP President and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti Thursday criticized summoning of political leaders by investigating agencies, saying Enforcement Directorate (ED) has become part of central government's election process.
"Whenever State or Parliamentary elections are going to held, the central government employs ED, NIA, CBI and others to summon political leaders. This is all aims to harass political leaders," Mehbooba Mufti as per KNS said while talking to reporters said.
She added there is no surprise in it as ED has become part of Central Government's election process.
Mehbooba was replying to summoning of National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah who was directed by ED authorities to appear himself before ED office in Srinagar, how due to his weak health conditions he couldn't visit ED office on Thursday. (KNS)
