Former Chief Minister Khwaja Ghulam Mohammad Shah Remembered on 15th Death Anniversary

Srinagar, Jan 06 (KNS): On the 15th anniversary of the passing of former Chief Minister Khwaja Ghulam Mohammad Shah, a heartfelt tribute was paid at district and block offices organized by the Awami National Conference. The event was attended by a large number of political activists, commemorating Shah's distinctive style of governance.

Shah, known for opening doors to education and combating unemployment, implemented policies promoting educational institutions' growth, standards, and equal opportunities for all. His leadership style emphasized transparency, accountability, and responsiveness not only in government but also in external institutions.

Described as a visionary, Shah believed that politics should be a means of awareness rather than just pursuing objectives. A poet's words, "Fear not; we who live have witnessed the spring of hope in times of despair," aptly capture his honest and dedicated personality.

Shah's commitment to shared culture and patriotism forged a unique identity, and his tenure was marked by effective administration and improved public governance. Beyond the governmental sphere, he advocated for transparency, responsibility, and accountability in external institutions, believing it to be crucial.

Regarded as a leader who considered the entire state as his home, an event organized by the Awami National Conference paid a remarkable tribute. The gathering included a memorial meeting at the Srinagar mausoleum, where prayers were offered. Prior to this, Quran recitation took place inside Hazrat Saeed Pir Manzaki, and a political gathering was organized under the auspices of the Awami National Conference.

In addition to paying homage to Khwaja Ghulam Mohammad Shah, the event remembered several other historical figures who made extraordinary sacrifices. Their contributions were acknowledged in a gathering attended by leaders such as Sardar Gian Singh, Shujaat Zafer, Sardar Gurmeet Singh, and others. Special prayers for forgiveness and blessings were offered for the departed souls.

Similar condolences were expressed in another memorial event held in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, where leaders from various political and social backgrounds praised Ghulam Mohammad Shah's incredible and unforgettable public services. The Awami National Conference's Additional General Secretary, Sardar Gian Singh, and other dignitaries participated in the tribute, remembering Shah's outstanding contributions to the region.(KNS)
