New Delhi, Dec 25(KNS): The appointment of CWC Member Shri G.A.Mir as AICC General Secretary is indeed a matter of immense pleasure for not only Congress Cadres in J&K, but all those who believe in Congress Party’s Ideology, selfless services and the sacrifices, besides the great contributions Congress has made towards the Nation building.
It was certainly good news for Congress Supporters also,who appreciate the organizational skills of “Mir” and the way he handled the Party affairs in J&K and elsewhere in the Country.
From booth level worker to National level political figure G.A.Mir is overwhelmingly a man of commitment and conviction towards the Congress Party, he always remained steadfast to make Congress vibrant not only in J&K, but elsewhere he (Mir)was deputed to reform the organization from time to time, which he did to the best of his ability and to the satisfaction of the Party High Command.
Rising from booth level to block level, block to district, District level to Pradesh, then to AICC observer of WB/Odisha and Member CWC, then finally to the most significant organizational position as General Secretary AICC, during all these years of struggle Mir never compromised on his principal based and transparent politics while having always spoken and acted in the interest of the Congress, which was appreciated by the party High Command from time to time, with the result he was rewarded with this important organizational assignment (AICC GS).
Mir won many assembly elections and served J&K in the capacity of Cabinet Minister many times, besides having proved his mettle in terms of reforming the respective departments he held and the organization as well. His performance and organizational skills boosted the morale of the party cadres and encouraged them to give their best to Congress, besides that Mir never discriminated in terms of assigning the responsibilities to Party leaders during his seven and half year term as JKPCC Chief. He left no stone unturned to reach the nook and corner of J&K as part of public outreach programmes, which brought the Congress to every house-hold in J&K.
Apart from other great contributions, Mir got fully involved in rescue and relief operations after the heavy earthquake that hit J&K 2005 leaving Border Belt Karnah and other remote areas in J&K completely devastated. He ensured relief to every affected individual and family particularly in Karnah, which is situated at IB.
Despite having been the victim of political conspiracies from time to time, G.A.Mir never compromised on his political ideology, his unwavering commitment towards the Congress ideology is known to every congressman. He is truly an organizational man with a potential to help the Party to emerge stronger in whatever circumstances.(KNS).
