Srinagar, Aug 23 (KNS): Senior Vice President of Apni Party and former Cabinet Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has expressed deep concern over the extensive damage caused to fruit crops in Kongamdara, Ahmadpora and Nowlari areas of Pattan following the recent hailstorm.
Mir said that the hailstorm has severely damaged orchards across the affected areas, leaving fruit growers facing substantial financial losses. He said that the growers have already invested heavily in their orchards and depend on the fruit crop for their livelihood.
He urged the government and concerned departments to immediately conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage and ensure adequate compensation and relief to all affected growers.

“Fruit growers in these areas have suffered heavy losses due to the hailstorm. The government must stand firmly with them and provide timely and adequate compensation. A proper field assessment should be conducted without delay so that genuine victims are not left without support,” Mir said.
Mir also urged the administration to expedite the assessment process and ensure that relief reaches the affected growers at the earliest. He stressed that timely government intervention is essential to protect the interests and livelihoods of the affected horticulture community. (KNS)
