Govt aims to take J&K forward in e-governance: Commissioner Secretary IT Dept

Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNS): Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Department of Information Technology, Prerna Puri on Saturday said that the administration aims to take Jammu and Kashmir forward in e-governance.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) on the sidelines of an event at SKICC, she said that accountability, transparency and accessibility are the main components of making J&K top in e-governance. 

“J&K has ushered in a new era of digital governance. We must ensure accountability, transparency and accessibility so that we will achieve our targets on time,” Prerna said.

She said today Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated several facilities to make the dream of making J&K frontrunner in e-governance system. “Aadhaar Sewa Kendra facility in 287 blocks was also launched. This will make working of Aadhar enrolment smooth across J&K,” she said.

She said the government is trying its best to make services available online for smooth functioning. 

“From 50, we have now 722 services online in Jammu and Kashmir and we are 5th in the country in launching online services. It a great occasion for us and we feel digital is a way forward and technology is a great leveler,” she said. (KNS)
