Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has announced the commencement of online classes in all government degree colleges across the Kashmir region starting from December 1, 2023.
In an communique, Special Secretary Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma highlighted the difficulties faced by students in commuting due to harsh weather conditions and inadequate heating arrangements.
The decision aims to ensure uninterrupted academic delivery during extreme cold conditions, with online classes scheduled until December 31, 2023, or the announcement of winter vacations, whichever comes first.
Principals are directed to facilitate faculty attendance and online teaching to adhere to the academic calendar, with internal and semester-end examinations following the universities' or institutions' notified schedules.(KNS)
