Srinagar, July 05(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference General Secretary Molvi Imran Reza Ansari criticized Omar Abdullah and National Conference of Atrocities and Hypocrisy & challenges JKNC’s principles and questions their commitment to Kashmiris, cites historical incidents of violence and collusion with BJP
In a scathing attack on the National Conference (JKNC) and its leader Omar Abdullah, Secretary General of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (JKPC), Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, in a statement issued to the Kashmir News Service (KNS), expressed his astonishment at the audacity of Omar Abdullah’s recent statements about principles and the party’s stance on Article 370. Imran Reza Ansari accused the JKNC of being complicit in numerous atrocities committed against the people of Kashmir and highlighted the party’s historical record of surrendering to power and colluding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Referring to Omar Abdullah’s tweet commending the new parliament building while his father, Farooq Abdullah, boycotted the opening ceremony, Ansari criticized the party for their contradictory actions. He claimed that such actions undermined the seriousness of the events of August 5, 2019, which he described as a crime against the people of Kashmir. Ansari further alleged that the NC had a role, whether overt or covert, in every atrocity committed against Kashmiris, and challenged the party to name one instance where they were not involved or fully participating.
By highlighting the surrender of 1975 as the biggest surrender in history, referring to the NC’s plea for a chief ministerial post without elections or being an MLA, leading to the signing of the infamous 1975 accord, Ansari accused the JKNC of killing Kashmiris in cold blood during the periods of 1996-2002 and 2008-2014, as well as indiscriminately jailing them and implementing oppressive laws such as the Public Safety Act (PSA) and the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA).

Challenging the NC’s credibility, Ansari reminded them that they were the first party to form an alliance with the BJP and alleged their involvement in rigging the 1987 elections. He also pointed out that the party had been handed power on a platter multiple times, indicating their willingness to compromise on their principles. Ansari highlighted two high-profile hangings in Kashmir, both of which occurred during the NC’s tenure, raising questions about their responsibility.
Accusing the JKNC of hypocrisy, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari claimed that they were the first party to offer support to the BJP in 2014 and suggested that they would do so again in future assembly elections. He mentioned a meeting at Hailey Road in Delhi and urged the NC to share the details. Ansari also referenced a case against Yasin Malik, filed during the NC’s tenure, and alleged that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was seeking the death penalty in the same case.
Furthermore, Imran Reza Ansari questioned the principles that the NC purported to uphold, asking them to talk about the Kashmiri blood on their hands and the need for atonement. He accused the party of shamelessly expecting people to believe that they could stand up for Kashmiris despite their history of atrocities. Ansari challenged the JKNC and Omar Abdullah to address their shame and shamelessness.(KNS).
