J&K Govt Approves Formation of Public Grievances Department

 Srinagar, July 12(KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir government has granted approval for the establishment of the Department of Public Grievances within the Union Territory.

According to an order, the newly established department will have the primary responsibility of addressing and resolving public grievances. It will handle various important tasks, including conducting live public grievance hearings with the Lieutenant Governor, overseeing the Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (JK-IGRAMS), monitoring the progress of grievance resolution by administrative departments and subordinate offices, ensuring the quality of grievance redressal, and addressing grievances received through social media channels.

As part of the reorganization, the Lieutenant Governor's Grievance Cell as per order will be integrated into the Department of Public Grievances. The staff previously assigned to the Grievance Cell by the General Administration Department will continue to serve in the newly formed department until permanent staff is appointed.

It is worth noting that no new positions will be created for the department, and any additional staffing requirements will be met through internal adjustments.(KNS).
