Lt Governor Visits KCCI Stalls -IITF at Pragati Maidan

Srinagar November 19 (KNS): The Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Kashmir Chamber of Industry & Commerce ( KCCI) stalls at the India International Trade Fair ( IITF) , being held at Pragati Maidan , on Saturday , 18 th of November.
 
The day was being celebrated as “ Kashmir Divas “ at the Fair. The LG was escorted by the President KCCI Javed Tenga and the Trade Fair Committee Chairman Muzaffar Majid & the treasurer Zubair Mahajan. The Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta , Commissioner Industries & Commerce Vikramjit Singh , JKTPO Managing Director Khalid Jehangir accompanied the Lt. Governor. It is worth mention that the KCCI is participating in IITF for the first time.
 
The LG went round  all the stalls and spent time with the participants after inaugurating the Fair on the eve of opening of Retail Sales. The IITF is considered to be the highest visited trade fair where the participants make huge sales. The Lt. Governor earlier on visited Kashmir Trade Fair Organisation( JKTPO) Exhibition Hall. Addressing a large number of gathering at the IITF the LG paid glowing tributes to the incomparable artistry & workmanship of Kashmiri artisans and weavers. He added that he  proudly states that Kashmiri Art, Culture , Handicrafts and Heritage craft has no parallel in the World.He lauded the master craftsmen for taking the Craft to highest levels. The GI tagging of more than 10 products will help in promotion and growth of Kashmir Handicrafts.
 
The LG , the Chief Secretary, Commissioner Industries & Commerce and MD JKTPO expressed appreciation for the role of KCCI for promotion of Kashmir Products.(KNS)
