Srinagar, Aug 19 (KNS) : Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday urged US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor to withdraw the travel advisory against visiting Kashmir, saying the restrictions were impacting the livelihoods of those dependent on the tourism sector.
Gor, who is on his first visit to the Union Territory since assuming charge, is scheduled to meet Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during his stay.
"The travel advisory on Kashmir is more than a warning for thousands of families who depend on tourism; it is a wall between Kashmir and the world," Mehbooba said in a post on X.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president said the lifting of the advisory would send a powerful message of confidence and help in the restoration of international tourist footfall in the Valley.
"The withdrawal of the advisory will provide much-needed relief to families whose livelihoods are dependent on the tourism industry," she added. (KNS)
