Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): The meteorological department on Sunday predicted light to moderate snowfall in plains and higher reaches of Kashmir and several place of Ladakh respectively from later tonight till December 27.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that light to moderate rain will likely occur from tonight and on December 27 in Jammu with light to moderate snowfall over places like Doda-Kishtwar, Jawahar Tunnel and Pirpanjal. 

He said that currently, weather is generally cloudy in both UTs with no report of snowfall from anywhere. 

“Light to moderate snow (2-3 Inches) in plains and moderate snow (5-6 Inches) over higher reaches most likely from later tonight till tomorrow (27th Evening/Night).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSome places of higher reaches may receive upto 1 feet of snow,” he said.

He also said that light to moderate snow at many places of Kargil and at scattered places of Leh district. “During 26th(Night) to 27th (Night) moderate to heavy snow is most likely on Zojila-Minamarg axis.” 

The official said that barring some places on higher reaches, there's no forecast of any major snowfall in both UTs. (KNS)
