Nizamuddin Bhat expresses concern over Jaundice Outbreak in Bandipore Village

 Bandipora, July 16(KNS): Former legislator and senior leader of the peoples conference, Nizamuddin Bhat, has expressed deep concern regarding the recent outbreak of jaundice in Quilmuqam village of Bandipora district.

Bhat urged the government to take immediate action to address the situation before it escalates into a full-fledged pandemic.

The alarming reports received by Bhat indicate that more than 50 children from various families have fallen victim to this debilitating disease. "If prompt steps are not taken for treatment and prevention, the number of affected children is likely to rise significantly," he said, adding that the gravity of the situation has created panic among the villagers and residents of adjacent localities who are desperate for answers regarding the cause and appropriate measures to tackle the outbreak.

Bhat said that parents from the village approached with a complaint that over 50!children of various families here have fallen to this disease and symptoms suggest that the number might considerably increase if immediate steps for treatment and prevention are not taken by health authorities.

Drawing attention to a potential contributing factor, Bhat has pointed out the lack of functional filtration mechanisms in various water supply schemes in the region. It is believed that the usage of untreated raw water by residents from several localities may be a key factor in compromising their health.

Bhat while highlighting the urgency if the issue urged the health authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and initiate swift action.

He has also called upon the  Deputy Commissioner to ensure that the affected children receive the necessary treatment while investigating the root cause of the outbreak.

Additionally, Bhat has urged higher authorities to conduct a thorough review of the existing water supply schemes to guarantee the provision of safe and clean drinking water for all residents.

Bhat seeks the intervention of higher authorities to prioritize the health and well-being of the affected children. He is confident that with the collaborative efforts of the concerned authorities, the outbreak can be contained, and the necessary preventive measures can be implemented to protect the community from further harm.

Bhat believes that immediate action and the allocation of necessary resources are pivotal in tackling this potential jaundice pandemic.

He calls upon the support and cooperation of the local administration, health officials, and concerned stakeholders to join forces in addressing this pressing issue.

Bhat hoped that   Deputy commissioner will take necessary steps to have the effected children treated and also will take steps to ascertain the actual cause and measures to prevent further spread .

He said that various water supply schemes didn’t have functional filtration mechanism and raw water is being used by residents of several localities which he said can be the main cause of effecting the health of the people .

Bhat sought intervention of higher authorities for a thorough review of current water supply schemes with an objective to ensure that these provide safe and clean water for drinking purposes to consumers.(KNS).
