Says constant efforts being made to create atmosphere of instability within india; UPA Govt didn't take effective action against terrorism; Modi govt countering terrorism, implementing systemic reforms

Jammu, June 26 (KNS): Stating that Prime Minister led Govt has made significant strides in countering the terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that not only the india but the world came to know what is the meaning of zero tolerance against terrorism.

Addressing security conclave here at Jammu, Rajnath said that the PM Modi led BJP government started effective action against terrorism, and for the first time, not only the country but the world came to know what is the meaning of zero tolerance against terrorism.

Rajnath said that since india got independence, continuous efforts are being made by anti-India forces, particularly from across the border in Pakistan, to destabilize the nation however terrorism has been stopped.

"We have stopped the funding of terrorism, a decisive step to safeguard the national security and disrupt the financial networks that sustain terrorist activities", Rajnath said.

UPA government's approach towards countering terrorism was ineffective, but under the leadership of PM Modi, government has taken decisive action to combat this menace, Rajnath said adding "for the first time, both our nation and the world have witnessed the true meaning of zero tolerance against terrorism".

Rajnath said he is not claiming that they have rooted out corruption which even nobody can. It cannot be reduced only by giving speeches and can be done only by making changes in the system.

"Let me clarify that we do not profess to have uprooted corruption entirely. No one can make such a claim. Corruption cannot be diminished solely through speeches; it necessitates fundamental changes within the system for which PM has initiated this very process", he added.(KNS)
