PDP Youth leader expresses surprise over celebrating West Bengal's statehood in J&K

Srinagar, June 21 (KNS): PDP Youth Wing Coordinator for Central Kashmir, Zuhaib Yousuf Mir on Wednesday expressed surprise on the celebrations of West Bengal’s Statehood by the J&K administration saying “celebrating the statehood of another state in a State turned UT is beyond understanding.”

“I don’t know what to call the Celebration of West Bengal’s STATEHOOD in J&K. Sadism, schadenfreude, inflicting pain or just downright cruelty or salt on our wounds ?,” Zuhaib tweeted.

Tagging the Prime Minister Narenedra Modi, Zuhaib added, “Hope you make federalism stronger.” A social media user while responding to Zuhaib’s tweet wrote on his handle, “Right now we all are from an orphan state, where the mother of democracy died 5 years ago.”
“It is beyond anybody’s thinking to celebrate the Statehood of a state in Jammu and Kashmir, where people’s constitutional rights have been snatched unilaterally,” Zuhaib said in a statement.

He called upon people to aware themselves about the democratic and constitutional rights so that they are not misled by any political mimicry. “Keep your eyes and ears open so that you act wisely in time,” Zuhaib said, adding “that can be in the elections when and if held.”

Zuhaib called upon the young party cadre to help common people in understanding their democratic rights. (KNS)
