PM Modi leads rituals for Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya

Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNS): The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya took place today with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the rituals. 


The new Ram Lalla idol was consecrated at the 161-feet tall pink sandstone shrine during the hour-long 'pran pratishtha' or consecration ceremony.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat were present inside the sanctum sanctorum during the rituals.

After reaching the Ram Mandir, PM Modi said that it is a "great pleasure" to be a part of this "divine program". 

“The extraordinary moment of the consecration of Ram Lala's life in Ayodhya Dham is going to leave everyone emotional," he wrote on X .

The new 51-inch idol of Ram Lalla, which is carved by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, entered the premises on January 17 and was placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple on January 18. (KNS)
