Police arrests 2 hybrid terrorists in Baramulla, Arms and ammunition recovered

 Srinagar, August 02 (KNS): Police alongwith security forces have arrested two hybrid terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

"On a specific information regarding movement of terrorists in Baramulla Town, a joint team of Police, Army (46RR) and CRPF (53Bn) established a MVCP at Azadgunj Old Town, Baramulla. During checking two suspected persons were intercepted who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Faisal Majeed Ganie son of Abdul Majeed resident of Bungalow Bagh Baramulla & Nourul Kamran Ganie son of Mohammad Akbar Ganie resident of Bagh-e-Islam Old Town Baramulla," a police spokesperson in a statement said.

"Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 1 Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine, 4 live Pistol rounds and 1 Grenade were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody," he added.

"During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that both the individuals are hybrid terrorists and are linked with proscribed terrorist outfit LeT and had collected the arms & ammunition for carrying terrorist activities in Town Baramulla in view of forthcoming Independence Day," he added.     

Accordingly, he said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated.(KNS).
