Pony Owners in Protest Against Doodhpathri Development Authority, Demands Fair Business Space

Budgam Jan 04 (KNS): Pony owners associated with the Doodhpathri Pony Owners Association took to the streets in protest against the Doodhpathri Development Authority (DDA).

Their primary demand revolves around securing a designated place or stand where they can attract customers and tourists.

The protesting pony owners specifically raised concerns about the presence of All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) on common roads, questioning why these vehicles, designed for off-roading, are permitted on regular routes.

During conversations with the protesters, they highlighted the economic hardships they face due to the lack of a proper space to engage with potential customers.

Expressing concern, the pony owners explained that despite holding licenses, they struggle to connect with tourists, as ATV riders often intercept customers before reaching the designated pony ride starting point. The economic strain has been particularly challenging for the past month.

In their appeal to the district administration of Budgam and the Doodhpathri Development Authority, the protesters urged swift intervention to address their concerns. They emphasized the urgency of finding a resolution to ensure the economic well-being of the pony owners and maintain a fair business environment at Doodhpathri.(KNS)
