PRIs in Kupwara refuse to board field tour buss to Utharakhand over 'Window Seat' tussle

Handwara July 21 (KNS): Sarpanch of Handwara who were scheduled to go Uttarakhand on a field tour on Friday accused officials of Rural Development Department of keeping them in waiting for endless hours on road and leaving for tour without them.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the PRI’s of Qaziabad were invited by Rural Development Department of Kupwara for field to Utharakhand, however today on the scheduled day they alleged that department didn't send them a vehicle.

"We had continuously received calls from RDD department Kupwara for a free tour, to which we all agreed and reported today early 7 am morning in Handwara, from where we reached Kulnagam but no bus from the department came to us. We jsut kept waiting us all the day, says Firdous Ahmad, Sarpanch Renan Langate.

"When I approached an official, a vehicle was sent which was already full with children and we were asked to unseat Children, how could we do that. Couldn't they arrange sufficient buses, he said "They simply made fun of us"

Another Sarpanch Abdul Dar from Hajin Langate said that were kept waiting for entire day and  appealed higher ups in  administration to intervene into the matter and stop the humiliation of elected PRIs.

However ACD Kupwara Hilal Ahmad refuted allegations, however, he said that  "few PRIs were asking for window seat or an additional bus which was not possible. We have videos with us which clearly show seats are still vacant, this is 7 day tour to Utrakhand for PRIs of Kupwara."(KNS)
