Handwara , Sep 28 (KNS): Local residents of Umer Abad Lame Audoora and Drungsoo in Handwara are aghast over heaps of garbage and cow dung being littered along road side in the area, thereby putting their live at risk.
Locals told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that at a time when authorities are engaged in the cleanliness program under Swachhata He Seva campaign and using all its efforts to sanitize each area, some miscreants are leaving no stone unturned to invite diseases.
They said that some miscreants are putting heaps of garbage and other waste material on roadside due to which people are exposed to several diseases.
They said that the cow dung and other waste material emanates foul smell and has polluted the area, putting residents especially school going children at risk of contracting diseases.
They said that they repeatedly conveyed the matter to authorities concerned for bringing but no action has been taken so far.
Locals appealed authorities to identify those putting garbage and cow along the road side and take action against them. (KNS)
