Srinagar Mar 14 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women's Wing State President and In Charge Constituency Haba Kadal Shameema Firdous has expressed profound grief over tragic fire incident in Islamyarbal Mohalla in Fateh Kadal in which four residential houses were completely damaged.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, she said, "District administration should reach out to affected families with necessary assistance for rehabilitation. The fire and emergency services department ground staff has done a commendable job in restricting the fire to a few houses and not letting it spread its spawn to the congested neighbourhood."

She also visited the victim families and assured them that she will take up the issue of their speedy rehabilitation with the concerned officials. 

She impressed upon the divisional administrator to direct the concerned Tehsildar  to submit the cases for consideration under SDRF. "In situations like this, there are various resources available to support families who have lost everything in a fire. Local organizations, such as the Red Cross or community relief agencies should step in to provide assistance with immediate needs like shelter, clothing, and food."

The administration must immediately rush revenue teams to work out the magnitude of losses incurred by the affected families so that the quantum of the compensation is decided at an earliest and also reimbursed promptly, she added.(KNS)
