Srinagar Food Safety Inspection: Unlabeled 80 kg Curd Seized, Units Issued Show Cause Notices

Srinagar, May 22(KNS): A Team led by Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Food Safety Kashmir and Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety, conducted a surprise inspection in various manufacturing units at the Khanmouh industrial area.
“During the inspection, the team discovered 80 kgs of unlabeled curd, which was promptly destroyed on the spot. A show cause notice was issued to the manufacturing units, and action under rules will be initiated against the unit holder”, Officials said in a statement

While interacting with the management of the unit holders, Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration directed all to strictly comply with the rules and regulations as laid down in the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, Rules 2011. “No one will be allowed to deviate from the law. We have to ensure that safe, wholesome food is provided to the consumers”, they said. (KNS)
