Bandipora, July 01 (KNS): In conjunction with Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations, Army and local administration in District Bandipora and Ganderbal is organizing Kashmir Premier League T-20 , KPL 2021.
In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that the tournament kickstarted with a lot of enthusiasm from locals and the first match was played between DYSS Bandipora and ICC, Bandipora at Hajin ground today and second match was played between Syed Cricket Club and Valley Hunks at Naidkhai ground.
"A total of 16 teams from district Bandipora and district Ganderbal are taking part in this tournament. The game is being played on T20 league-cum-knockout basis. The tournament has witnessed an overwhelming response in terms of team registrations and has turned out to be a crowd puller since its announcement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"
As per the statement the tournament announcement has made youth and locals of the area extremely happy, as it got their attention from the pandemic to valleys favorite game .
"With reputation at stake, each team is being seen putting their best foot forward in the knockout stage matches being played at two venues. Army has collaborated with DYSS Bandipora for the conducting this tournament, where the endeavor is to involve maximum people of the district," it reads.
The statement reads that during pandemic times and restrictions in place, the league matches are being played with an aim to select the best players to make one best team each from district Bandipora and district Ganderbal. (KNS)
