Tangmarg, July 6 (KNS): MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah on Monday said that a clock tower is an identity of every town and expressed hope that the proposed Clock Tower at Tangmarg will further enhance the beauty and appeal of the famous tourist destination.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone of the Clock Tower in Tangmarg, Shah said the project is aimed at giving the town a distinct identity while improving its overall appearance.

Shah said there is no need to implement the recently issued odd-even traffic order of the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) at present, asserting that it should not be enforced under the existing circumstances.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Referring to the GDA's odd-even traffic order, Shah said there is no immediate need for its implementation and maintained that it should not be enforced at this stage.

He said Tangmarg and Gulmarg are internationally known tourist destinations, and the construction of the Clock Tower will add to the aesthetic charm of the area and create a better impression for visitors.

Shah reiterated the government's commitment to undertaking developmental works that strengthen public infrastructure while preserving the unique character of the region. (KNS)
