Unprecedented Cold continue Grips Kashmir

 Srinagar, Dec 06(KNS): The Kashmir region experienced an extreme cold snap today, shattering records for minimum temperatures as the mercury plunged to new lows, reaching zero or below in various parts of Kashmir

In the Kashmir region, Srinagar recorded -2.0°C, Qazigund -2.0°C, Pahalgam -5.1°C, Kupwara -2.7°C, Kokernag -0.5°C, Gulmarg -2.2°C, Anantnag -3.4°C, Ganderbal -2.4°C, Pulwama -3.3°C, Bandipora -3.7°C, Baramulla -2.4°C, Budgam -2.6°C, Kulgam -1.1°C, and Shopian -5.0°C.

In the Jammu region, temperatures varied, with Jammu at 9.0°C, Banihal 0.8°C, Batote 3.6°C, Katra 8.4°C, Bhaderwah 1.4°C, Kathua 8.8°C, Rajouri 8.3°C, Ramban 4.5°C, Reasi 8.1°C, Samba 7.3°C, and Udhampur 6.6°C.

Ladakh faced extreme cold, with Leh at -10.0°C, Kargil -8.6°C, and Drass plummeting to -12.1°C.

As per the MeT officials, the forecast for the upcoming week indicates predominantly dry weather from the 4th to the 10th of December. However, a shift is expected on the 11th of December with generally cloudy conditions anticipated.(KNS).
