Srinagar, 13 Aug (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous said that the role of women in shaping a peaceful, progressive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir cannot be underestimated.

In a statement issued ,She said the women of the region have consistently demonstrated remarkable courage, resilience and determination while contributing to social progress and standing firm through difficult times.

This was stated by Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous, while addressing a function organised by the Women’s Wing at the party headquarters on Wednesday. Provincial President Women’s Wing Er. Sabiya Qadri also addressed the gathering.

During the function, newly appointed District President Women’s Wing Ganderbal, Tasleema Majid, former DDC, was formally entrusted with the responsibilities of the district president.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelShe was also felicitated with floral garlands on the occasion.

In her address, Shameema Firdous said several organisations and self-styled leaders were emerging with the objective of dividing the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. She said success could only be achieved through unity and by speaking with one voice. She called upon the people to reject elements seeking to divide them into groups through various tactics.

Engineer Sabiya Qadri, in her address, said strengthening the National Conference was the need of the hour and called for maintaining close contact with the people. She said the party will highlight public issues, work for their resolution and stand by people in times of happiness and sorrow.

Provincial Secretary Ayesha Jameel and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.(KNS)
