Youth's Support Key to Decline Terrorism in Kashmir: IG CRPF


Srinagar, Dec 19 (KNS): Inspector General Ajay Yadav of CRPF's Srinagar sector directly credits the decline in terrorism-related violence in the valley to the significant support from the people, especially the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. 

While inaugurating a football tournament organized by CRPF in Srinagar, Yadav expressed gratitude to the youth, emphasizing their major role in this positive shift. 

He anticipates a better future, stating that the upcoming year will witness continued support from the people. The football tournament, featuring 16 teams from central Kashmir, aims to engage the youth, offering them opportunities for personal growth and potential national-level sports participation. 

Yadav highlighted the importance of sports in diverting youth away from detrimental influences like drugs. Emphasizing the commitment to youth engagement, he confirmed that such tournaments are part of the CRPF's civic action program, ensuring they become an annual occurrence. 

When questioned about security for elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the IG asserted the CRPF's readiness for any responsibility.(KNS)
