Zero tolerance toward drug menace our top priority: newly appointed SSP Kupwara

kupwara, January 31 (KNS): Shobhit Saxena, the newly appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, asserted that the department's primary focus is on eradicating drug dealing.


While talking to the media, Saxena conveyed that both the Jammu Kashmir Police and the entire nation maintain a strict stance of zero tolerance for drug peddling. "Not only the Jammu Kashmir Police but the entire country has zero tolerance towards drug peddling, and it will be our top priority to fight it," he said.

Saxena highlighted the destructive impact of drug addiction, asserting, "It is a nuisance that destroys the future of our generations. We will understand the drug syndicates, and accordingly, action will be initiated."

Expressing positivity about the people of Kupwara, Saxena said, "I have heard a lot of good about the people of Kupwara; the people are friendly. I am hopeful of good relations with the people of Kupwara." Reflecting on his assumption of charge, he added, "I have assumed charge, got overwhelmed welcome."

Meanwhile, Shobhit Saxena received a warm welcome from the outgoing SSP, Yougal Manhas, and other officers of the Police District. The official commencement of Saxena's tenure was marked by a guard of honor.
