NC legislator says many detainees are college students; urges govt to facilitate release or shift them to prisons in J&K
Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNS): National Conference legislator Mir Saifullah on Wednesday raised the issue of youth from Jammu and Kashmir lodged in jails in different parts of the country, urging the government to take steps for their release or shift them to prisons in the Union Territory.
Raising the issue in the J&K Legislative Assembly, the Trehgam MLA said many of those lodged outside J&K are college students, and sought the government's intervention in their cases.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Saifullah urged the government to examine the cases of the detained youth and facilitate their release wherever possible. He also suggested that those who cannot be released should be brought back and lodged in jails in J&K.
The legislator said the matter needed to be addressed, particularly in cases involving young students.(KNS)
