Srinagar, Oct 25 (KNS): MLA Mehraj Malik, currently detained in Kathua Jail under the Public Safety Act (PSA), criticised the National Conference over the recent Rajya Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir, in which the NC won three seats and the BJP secured one.
Speaking from jail, Malik, according to his official social media handle, said that despite casting his vote for the NC, the party never reached out to him or made any effort to seek his support. “Even after voting from jail, I am now being questioned by some of their leaders. This is the absolute height of shamelessness,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He alleged that the NC was never serious about winning the fourth seat and had already compromised with the BJP. “Keeping the larger interests of J&K in mind, I voted for them, believing my vote could make a difference. Unfortunately, some among them had decided to side with the BJP,” he said.
Malik also criticised the party for fielding a Muslim candidate from Nagrota, claiming it helped the BJP consolidate its position. He accused NC leaders of hypocrisy, saying those pretending to be anti-BJP are the same who maintain ties with BJP leaders like Sat Sharma.(KNS).
