14 Candidates Shortlisted for JKBOSE, SCERT Top Positions; Interaction on March 5

Srinagar, Feb 28 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department (SED) has shortlisted 14 candidates for the posts of Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) and Director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The candidates have been called for an interaction with the Search Committee on March 5.


According to an official notification which lies with KNS, the Search Committee, chaired by the Financial Commissioner/Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department, met on February 17 to finalize the list. The shortlisted individuals include principals, deans, registrars, and senior officials from various educational institutions and administrative bodies in Jammu and Kashmir. The interaction will take place at 12 noon in the Committee Meeting Room, Civil Secretariat, Jammu.

The J&K government had reconstituted the Search Committee on December 13, 2024, to recommend suitable candidates for these key education positions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe panel includes officials from the School Education Department (SED), General Administration Department (GAD), and Higher Education Department (HED), along with the Vice-Chancellors of the University of Kashmir and the University of Jammu.

Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas was appointed as JKBOSE Chairman on deputation for two years starting January 25, 2023. His tenure ended on January 25, 2025, but the government granted him a one-month extension, which expired on February 25. With no further extension orders, JKBOSE currently remains without a chairman, despite ongoing board examinations.
 
The government has directed that the evaluation and result declaration for Class 10th, 11th, and 12th be completed within 45 days, following the recent reversal of the academic session.(KNS)
