150 Women Join Khadi Movement in Bandipora, Promote Swadeshi and Self-Reliance

Bandipora October 16 (KNS):  Under the aiges of Khadi Mahotsav 2025, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), PMTC Pampore today on Thursday organised Spinner Contest during which 150 women spinners Shine and joined hands for Khadi, Swadeshi AmtmanirbarBharat. Slogan of Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion echoked during the programme. Besides many other programmes were also conducted  during the day. 


KVIC–PMTC Pampore has organized a Spinner Contest in District Bandipora in collaboration with its partner NGO Harmukh Khadi. More than 150 women spinners from various areas of the district  participated in the event.

The contest aims to encourage and recognize the skill and dedication of Khadi artisans. Participants securing the First, Second, and Third positions were awarded prizes, while certificates of participation will be distributed to all artisans.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Before the commencement of the contest, Shri Anil Kumar Sharma, Principal PMTC Pampore, participants and officials took the Khadi Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to Swadeshi, self-reliance, and the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. An awareness session on Swadeshi and Khadi was also held to highlight the importance of using local and indigenous products.

Following the contest, a Plantation Drive was  conducted to promote environmental responsibility. The event  concluded with a Khadi Yatra, spreading the message of “Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion” and reinforcing the idea of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.(KNS)
